This notice explains what personal data we process, why, and your choices. It sits alongside our Terms and Cookie policy.

1. Data we collect

Account and profile

• Email, password (stored as a one-way hash), name, handle
• Optional: city, country, uni/college, study field, year label, timezone, birth year, bio, avatar
• Role (student / moderator / admin), account status, Plus status and source

Content you create

• Posts, comments, Studio pieces, Help cards, bulletin posts and tips, events, listings, messages, reports, game scores
• Media you upload (for example images under /uploads/)

Technical and security

• IP address, user agent, session identifiers, remember-me tokens
• Security events (failed logins, rate limits, blocks) and admin audit actions
• Cloudflare edge signals when that service is enabled for the domain

Analytics (optional)

• Google Analytics 4 page measurements only if you accept analytics cookies (property G-C2SC12Q5J5)

2. Why we use it

• Provide the service - accounts, feed, chat, boards, Plus, preferences
• Safety and trust - age/education gate, moderation (human and automated, e.g. xAI), reports, IP blocks, abuse detection
• Security - login protection, CSRF, session management
• Improve the product - optional analytics on public and app pages after consent
• Legal - comply with law, enforce Terms, handle disputes

We do not sell your personal data. We do not run third-party advertising networks on Nudjz.

3. Legal bases (where GDPR-style rules apply)

• Contract - running your account and core features
• Legitimate interests - security, fraud prevention, product improvement, moderation
• Consent - optional analytics cookies; you can withdraw via Cookie settings
• Legal obligation - where we must retain or disclose information by law

4. Who we share with

• Infrastructure - hosting, database, email providers we use to run the site
• Cloudflare - edge security / CDN when enabled for nudjz.com
• xAI - content moderation API when enabled (text you post may be sent for safety scoring)
• Google - Analytics only after you accept analytics cookies
• Payment providers - if you buy Plus (they process payment details)
• Staff and moderators - limited access to operate safety and support
• Authorities - when required by law or to protect people from serious harm

Other users see what you choose to make public (profile, posts, listings, etc.).

5. International transfers

We are based in the Isle of Man. Sub-processors (hosting, Cloudflare, xAI, Google, payment providers) may process data in other countries. We use reputable providers and appropriate safeguards where required.

6. How long we keep data

• Account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure for security and legal claims
• Security logs typically for weeks to months, then pruned
• Remember-me tokens until expiry or logout / password reset
• Analytics retention per Google’s configuration after consent

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent for analytics.

• Update profile details in the app
• Change cookie choices anytime via Cookie settings
• Request account deletion or a copy of your data via the operator channels published on the site

You may also complain to a supervisory authority. For Isle of Man residents that is typically the Information Commissioner; EU/UK users may also have rights under local law.

8. Children and school pupils

Nudjz is not for school pupils. We use an age and education confirmation at signup. If you believe a child has registered inappropriately, contact us and we will take action.

9. Security

We use hashed passwords, HTTPS where configured, session and CSRF protections, rate limits, optional Cloudflare ramp, and access controls for admin tools. No system is perfectly secure; report suspected vulnerabilities responsibly via published contact channels.

10. Changes

We may update this notice. The “Last updated” date will change when we do.
